A couple months ago we mentioned that our insurance denied Dory her wheelchair. We got a letter today from the insurance denying her appeal. The denial stated that because the doctor did not specify that she could use her arms to propel the wheelchair, that is one reason for the rejection. However, they also said it was denied because it seems, since she can do all self-care tasks, that just a walker would be good. But yet they aren’t sure she can propel a wheelchair? Clearly the arms work.
Insurance is the most assinine concept. They are a bunch of hate filled criminals looking to make extra money by causing someone else additional pain. I don’t make a lot of money, so buying her wheelchair was not easy - 3 people had to contribute. And specialist visits with this insurance are very costly. To maintain our health is so expensive it sometimes feels pointless.
A very frustrated couple.
